Remember that AFL-CIO President John Sweeney announced layoffs of a third of the staff, or more accurately, had the layoffs announced on a day when he was in Paris. Recall, too, that the staff put up a stink, charging, among other things, that the layoffs fell disproportionately on seniors an people of color.
